It’s all in the title: the blurb and cover for Beating Ruby, book #2 in the Spotless series, have been revealed! 🙂 The book will be released in January!
Life hasn’t been quite the same for computer engineer Island Chaptal since March, an OCD-ridden professional killer, burst into her life to clean her bedroom and take her on a global chase for a legendary diamond. Sadly, the (hit) man doesn’t just break bones; he breaks hearts, too.
Since then, Island has found solace in Alex—the perfect boyfriend—and Ruby, a software project about to revolutionize online banking security…for the worse. When Island’s boss is found dead after allegedly using Ruby to steal a vast fortune, it’s up to her to clear his name and recover the money. Someone else wants answers, though, and this time, Island might be in over her head.
From New York to Zürich, it’s going to take the return of a cleaning expert, a mini-octopus, and Island’s wits to beat Ruby. All while deciding whether to trust a man who already jilted her, or one who may have his own deadly secrets…

I started listening to your book Spotless while on a train from Milan to Basel and fell in love with Island and March. The book is very clever and witty and I am looking forward to the next installment!
I’m glad you liked it! 🙂 (And a Milan-Basel sounds like a great premise to a spy story 😉 )
Oh man. January seems so far away. I can’t wait to read the second book! I just read the first and I loved it. First book in a long time that made me snort with laughter in the middle of the subway.
So excited. Just bought your first book on Audible in the sale and have listened to about 30 minutes of it and know I want more! Hope this sale brings you many new readers! So happy for you!
Thank you, Colleen! Amy McFadden did a fantastic job, she really brought Island to life!
Oh my god yes! I totally agree, your book was so bomb already but Amy McFadden’s reading just made it even better! Her range is amazing, I sometimes forgot all the voices were done by just one woman! 😀
I immediately looked for more work by you and her. So disappointed you haven’t published anything else yet, but absolutely looking forward to Beating Ruby! Thanks for the fantastic read!
